Full Day Adventures

Waterfalls, Volcanoes & Wildlife

These trips are bigger days — best when you have an open schedule, an extra day before or after camp, or a group that wants a real Costa Rica adventure.

Hero Favorite La Leona Waterfall A true adventure day with hiking, river crossings, canyon walls, and one of the most memorable waterfalls in Guanacaste. Best for active travelers — expect water, rocks, and uneven terrain.
Volcano Country Rincón de la Vieja Volcanic landscapes, waterfalls, hot springs, mud baths, horseback riding, and tubing depending on the route. Good for groups who want adventure plus recovery. Plan on a full day.
Blue Water Rio Celeste Famous for its bright blue water and rainforest setting. Beautiful, but a longer drive — better before or after retreat dates when you have a full open day.

Wildlife & Nature

Lower-Effort Nature Trips

Not every day trip needs to be a huge adventure. These are easier options for wildlife, scenery, and a different side of Guanacaste.

Palo Verde River A good option for wildlife, birds, crocodiles, monkeys, and a slower nature-focused day. Less demanding than waterfall or volcano trips — best for wildlife and families.
Llanos de Cortés Waterfall A beautiful, easier waterfall stop that works well as part of a travel day, Liberia route, or relaxed adventure outside Tamarindo.
